Tow Hitch Receiver for Rlaarlo JK07

What This Is

Rlaarlo hit it out of the park with the JK07. It’s brilliant. However, one thing it can’t do is tow a trailer. That ends today!

This is an easy print that will solve your towing problem, though you will still need the actual tow hitch itself.  (Does not fit TK07 without modification).

Hardware Needed

• 6x M3 12mm BH Screws (Button Head)
• 3x M3 14 to 18mm CSS Screws (Counter-Sunk Screws)

How to Print

I printed in PLA+, though PLA, PETG and other rigid filaments should be fine. I’d suggest these settings:

• I print with a 0.6mm nozzle, but most of you reading this will use a 0.4mm nozzle.
• I printed at 0.24mm, but 0.2mm will be fine as well.
• Suggest 4 or 5 wall thickness
• 25% Cubic infill for all parts.
• I used PLA+. PLA should work fine, as should PETG.

Installation

1. Open the body so you can access the rear of the car. It doesn’t have to be unbolted.
2. Attach the Receiver to the JK07 Hitch Bracket piece with the 3x CSS screws. Don’t over-tighten!
3. Remove the 8mm screws from the rear of the inner fenders. You won’t need these again.
4. Align the JK07 Hitch Bracket piece between the inner fender holes. Loosely attach with 2x 12mm BH screws.
5. Insert the remaining 4x 12mm BH screws into the Hitch Clip pieces and firmly affix these over the rails to the JK07 Hitch Bracket piece.
6. Once you’re happy with orientation, tighten the BH screws with the rear fenders. Should be snug.
7. Slide the tow hitch or drop hitch bar into the Receiver piece and insert a screw or two. Done!
