How to Print
I printed in PLA+, though PLA, PETG and other rigid filaments should be fine. I’d suggest these settings:
– 0.4mm nozzle (or bigger)
– 0.24mm layer size (I used 0.36mm with my 0.6mm nozzle)
– 3 wall width (or wall or shell layers)
– 25% infill, cubic (15% minimum)
– No supports needed except for the Battery Lid piece
– Print in orientation as files load into slicer. No rotation should be needed.
Installation
- Print per the above settings.
- Screw the hinges onto the Battery Lid and then the Battery Box (8x M1.5 or M2 6mm screws – whatever the hinges came with is fine too)
- Screw the Battery Box onto the chassis rails (2x M3 8mm to 12mm counter-sunk screws)
- Screw the Trailer Hitch Base onto the chassis (4x M2.5 10mm socket head screws)
- Screw the trailer hitch plate onto the Trailer Hitch Base (4x M3 14mm button head screws)
- Screw the Trailer Hitch Base to the Battery Box, inserting the screws from the rear (Hitch Base) and forward into the Battery Box. They should end up flush inside the box, with no metal protruding into the box. Be careful! (2x M3 14mm button/flat/socket head screws)
- Get a paper clip and bend it into a latch shape, like an ‘S’. You want the lid screw to secure it always, and to have it latch shut onto the box screw below it.
Thanks and enjoy this one!
